as she has done so many times, ms. horsey has again proven her usefulness as an advocate for old buildings---the latest in dallas where she and a friend wrote an excellent op-ed that was published in the friday morning news, and was one of the more-public protests of the proposed demolition of the home of stanley marcus, of neiman-marcus fame, that was announced last week by its new owner---it's a great house, built in 1938, contemporaneous with her own wonderful house---

The house that once drew the elite of fashion, politics and the arts to an obscure street in Lakewood attracted one last burst of the spotlight earlier this week when its owner announced he intended to tear it down.
