recapitulating cuba: remedios to trinidad

after lunch (and mojitos) in remedios, we headed south to trinidad, back through santa clara and manicaragua before skirting the east side of the topes de collantes, a national nature reserve in the escambray mountains --- terrible road so photography-on-the-go was tough --- rough living out in the country

there were good concrete shelters all over cuba, since the majority of the people are always waiting for a ride, on a bus or in private vehicles --- people are quick to pick up anybody that needs a ride and most cars are packed with people as a result

a lot of roofs and even walls of farm buildings were thatched with palm

cohiba: the finest
yes, i did, and it was good

and joel went on to explain the finer points of rum consumption through tastings of the various grades of rum
