knoxville!

not a bad town at all --- great little downtown with gay street, seriously, as its most happening thoroughfare
spent most of the time crawling around these two houses, built between 1792 and 1818 --- they are about all that is left of early nineteenth century knoxville 

this fine 1897 bridge spans the tennessee river a few hundred feet west of the houses


this old sterchi building, like several other old office buildings downtown, has been rehabbed as lofts
deviled eggs with rooster sauce and tennessee chow chow is a combination i must remember
