psfs
the psfs building was the first international style skyscraper in the country when it was completed in 1932 --- now a national historic landmark, it was converted to a loews hotel in 2000 --- it's getting a tad worn in places, but still a great stay ---
on market street, just east of city hall, macys and the old wannamakers organ in the next block --- best of all since it was so cold, there was an entry into the convention center virtually across the street from the hotel ---
and the marble! from acres of flawless belgian black marble to spectacular panels of red and gold numidian marble --- the lobby and first floor are a creation of the hotel renovation and not exactly a good fit for an intl-style bldg, but whatever . . . .
corner rooms on the seventeenth floor give fine views of a great city
