smyrna campground
we had a stop at smyrna campground, one of a very few presbyterian campgrounds, which were mostly a methodist product of the second great awakening of the early nineteenth century --- this one dates to the 1830s, although the arbor itself may be no earlier than the 1850s --- all of the temporary housing, or "tents," that line the north and west sides are in great condition
