from cannara and just about everywhere else we went, assisi high up on the hillside was a landmark --- but as with everywhere i went, photography doesn't do it justice --- we wound up the day there at just the right time: sunset at assisi on new years eve 2013 ---

i squeezed off a couple of shots before the guard said "no picture, no picture" --- photographed the caravaggio's at san luigi's (no flash was only restrictions) and there were no restrictions at all at st. peters and all of the other churches that I went to, except for san clemente ---
