historic preservation at salmon ruins
the salmon family established a homestead near the anasazi ruins --- their house, a bunk house, and root house are still there, thankfully unrestored --- they protected the ruins from the diggers that ruined many other anasazi sites in the late 19th and early 20th c --- it was that looting that provoked passage of the antiquities act in 1906
