dc-2

a day on foot from dupont circle down to the mall to check out the vietnam, which is still incredibly moving, lincoln, roosevelt, mlk, george mason, and jefferson memorials -- mason's memorial had a dead fountain and barren landscape --- most of the water features at the roosevelt memorial were dead, and a lot of the walkway around the tidal basin is underwater --- that's what we get with republican budgets

on to the smithsonian, museum of the american indian (excellent in every way), national botanical garden ---

back uptown to dupont circle, which was a happening place --- spent a while drinking over-priced drinks at cafe dupont, just to watch the spectacle outside

these guys were part of an animal rights group, anonymous for the voiceless ---
