some of the reactions of the right-wing to the election are absolutely dumbfounding --- "america is dead," "it's not a traditional america anymore," "we grieve today like we have lost a friend or a close relative," "there is no hope," etc., etc. --- there were racial disturbances at old miss and at hampton-sydney --- many of them were convinced that 2008 was a fluke, and that this time people would come to their senses --- they spent the last month or two dissing the polls as being "skewed" --- well, they weren't --- black people did turn out to vote; latinos did turn out to vote; young people did turn out to vote --- it has created massive cognitive dissonance as the reality of the election results have collided with the manufactured reality of limbaugh, hannity, et.al. --- the wheel has turned and there's a whole lot of white people having a hard time with that ---
