the river is expected to crest at well above the record flood stage set at vicksburg in 1927 and at natchez in 1937 ---- and the army corps is opening the bonnett carre spillway north of new orleans --- and hoping it and the old river control structure hold, cause if they don't and the river were to change course, a whole lot more than just new orleans would be hurting --- thnx for the tip, andrew
