that headline is funny, but what they're proposing is just plain dumb --- the whole shopping-mall mentality has now taken over management of our cities
The primary differences between the current and proposed ordinance include identification of specific areas of the city where the publication vending devices will be allowed as shown on the map titled “Publication Vending Device Area”, limiting the permit to one year instead of a permit that never expires, and requiring vendors to purchase standardized devices from a list of acceptable vendors.does anybody else think this is an affront to the first amendment?

Yes, although freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom to spell any way you want. Rein in, I believe they meant.
Maybe it's just because there can be so many racks in one spot that they look tacky? That's the only reason I could see the legitimacy of any ordinances.
that's the very point - trying to regulate 'Tacky'...
if you're familiar with Harry Potter, the truly terrifying Mrs. Umbridge is the very Anti-Christ, one who must control even the smallest things...
in my Amerika, we are FREE, certainly and at least, to be tacky! or something terribly ominous is happening - and if you don't at least object to these small insidious offenses, how can you hope to prevail against the larger forces that want control of you...?
