recapitulating cuba: havana, el último día

one last day in havana, with quick visits to the museum of fine art and the museum of the revolution and plenty of time to just appreciate the city --- for unknown reasons, we did not see el morro, as the itinerary had promised --- we saw san cristobal on day 2, but never the much older and more significant castillo de los tres reyes magos del morro --- i saw it last time, but was looking forward to seeing it again

el edificio barcardi (1930) has been restored for offices --- for a cuban peso, one may climb to the tower for an awesome view of the city

the museum of the revolution is in the old presidential palace (1920) --- like el capitolio, it was undergoing extensive restoration

rincon de los cretinos, crediting batista with provoking the revolution, reagan for strengthening the revolution, bush sr. for consolidating the revolution, and w for making socialism irrevocable ---

the caricature of w was a little overdone, i thought, what with the swastika and all --- the upside-down book was all that was really necessary
